Paint Sealant Extends the the life of your Polish
Most Paint sealants are used on top of your normal paint protection, for example polish. It works by forming a nano layer over the polish. This nano layer creates a hydrophobic affect, where any muck or water, beads off your paint work.
These sprays have became more and more popular in recent years, as people look for ways to save time and look after their expensive cars. Keeping with the topic of saving time, when it comes to car sealants they can save you A LOT of it. Not just by reducing how much you have to polish your car, but through not having to wash your car as frequently. Using the nano sealant along with along with a paint sealant together can therefore massively reduce how often your car needs washed.
A paint sealant can last anywhere from 1-12 months. Both shorter and longer lasting sealants have benefits, but with some longer lasting sealants they will require removal if any paint correction is needed after the sealant has been applied.
Gloss and Shine Enhancement
These sealants are mostly polymer based, which is a type of plastic, however some use nano technology. This nano technology helps the sealant bond to your paintwork. As well as this some sealants contain additional silicone oils which provide a long lasting, durable, deep sheeting, gloss finish. That just doesn’t seem possible with a stand alone spray-wax or polish.
We recommend you don’t skip your normal polish before using a paint sealant, if you really want the show car look for months on end. The sealant does a great job of extending, enhancing and enriching the effects of your paint protection.
Heat/UV Protection and Acid Rain
Sealants can also add a UV and heat protection layer to your paintwork. This can be particularly effective on red cars for example, that suffer from large amounts UV fading and damage. A spray sealant can therefore help save money in the long run, by reducing the need for expensive respray jobs later in the cars life.
Keeping in mind a machine polish can go a long way in some cases. However, this can still come at a price. Some garages really know how to charge when it comes to paint correction, so it is always best to ask for a quote up front. If you ever do find yourself with a pink car that once was red.
However, just because your car isn’t red doesn’t mean the sun isn’t degrading your paintwork month after month. With global warming and its affects on the weather and climate, phenomenons such as acid rain are becoming more and more common. However, not to worry if you’re using a paint sealant, well at least where your car is concerned.
